The New Zealand Customs Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have entered into a Partnership Arrangement to support the development of the Customs sector in the Pacific with a view to enabling long-term security and economic growth. NZ Customs Service is to develop and deliver a leadership development programme to build the leadership capability enabling increased effectiveness and sustainability of reform in custom’s administrations in the Pacific.
This will in turn increase the number of quality leaders and create a quality leadership pool that drives innovation and improved performance. A pool of 15 Officers (13 from the Ministry for Revenue, 1 from Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority, 1 from Cook Islands Ministry of Finance - Immigration Services) ranging from Senior Managers to Middle level managers have been selected as participants for this programme. The programme kicks off with its first workshop lasting 4 days at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel.
